Towards an Arab Impact Factor for Quality and Evaluation the Journals and Scientific Research which Published in Arabic: Necessities, and Requirements

Abstract

The present study express the importance of scientific publishing, the importance of different indexes for Evaluation, and their impact on the quality of the published product. The present paper seeks to draw attention and emphasize about the importance and necessity of having a scientific body that will classify and set standards for judging the scientific production published in Arabic. As the indexes that limited to Journals published in English without Arabic.

The paper review some international efforts in the field of classification and evaluation the scientific production and Journals. Moreover, presented the concept of the impact factor and the factors affecting it, as the positive and criticism directed at it, the paper Also present some Arab experiences in order to classify and developing standards for Arabic scientific production, up to the Arab impact factor. With a review of the most important justification that called for the need for an Arab impact factor for Journal and research which published in Arabic. Then identify the requirements that ensure the success of this project and its continuation, and the role of universities and research institutions in the Arab world in this Issue.
